Description
Second photo of my Strings Of Life series.
I didn't publish anything for a while now. I blame summer. I have photos on my computer, they are waiting for a postproduciton, but i'm not really so much on the computer this days. I just check a little what's going on and that's it. I will try to publish one photo a week, thought.
Last week I bought some fabric, because I have a new series in my mind and I have to make myself a "dress" for it. I'm so excited!

This is a wonderful piece whose binding in yarn and chiaroscuro style capture the message of 'struggle' communicated by the artist. To me, the piece induces thoughts of Jungian psychology and the development of ego - or individuation. When the ego separates from the world parents, it is confronted with the dangers and insecurities of the profane natural world. This leads to fear - and emotion that is also captured in the piece.
The individual must transform into hero to confront these struggles. This piece (in my view) symbolizes the stage prior to confronting those fears - the stage where it is more natural to return to the warmth of the mother's womb than to become the individualized hero. Will the ego succeed in overcoming the struggle? Interestingly, the piece leaves it to the viewer to decide what the answer will be - and thus it is personalized. This vests the viewer in the piece.
Vision, originality, technique and impact, this is a great work.
